About SAT

The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a standardized test for students who intend to pursue undergraduate courses in the United States and Canada. SAT is wholly owned, developed, and published by the College Board, and  it is administered on behalf of the College Board by the Educational Testing Service. The test is intended to assess students' readiness for undergraduate programmes of universities or colleges.

Eligibility Criteria 

Students in standards 11th or 12th are advised to take SAT. There is no criteria of minimum marks for appearing in the SAT, but several colleges need a good SAT score along with a good academic record.

Structure of Test 

There are two main sections: 1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing & 2. Math section These are further divided into four sections:

Reading, Writing and Language, Math (with calculator), and Math (without calculator)

A total score for the SAT is calculated by adding the two section scores, resulting in total scores that range from 400 to 1600.The duration of exam is 3 hours, and it is a paper and pencil based exam.
