About GMAT 

GMAT is the most widely used exam for graduate business school admissions, and more than 200,000 candidates take GMAT exam every year. The examination is administered by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). GMAT is a computer-adaptive test.

The test is available both at a test centre and online.

More than 7000 programs offered by more than 2300 universities and institutions in 110 countries use the GMAT exam as part of the selection criteria for their programs site. Business schools use the test as a criterion for admission into a wide range of graduate management programs, including MBA, Master of Accountancy, and Master of Finance programs.

GMAT scores vary in importance at different schools.

Eligibility Criterion 

A candidate who has completed graduation or while he or she is in the final year of graduation can appear for GMAT. 

Test Pattern 

Structure of the GMAT Exam

The GMAT Exam has four separately timed sections. You will have the opportunity to take two optional eight-minute breaks during the exam. In total the test takes just under 3 1/2  hours to complete, including two optional breaks.

GMAT consists of four sections: Analytical writing assessment, Integrated reasoning, Quantitative reasoning & verbal reasoning. 

GMAT Score Range: 200- 800

Score Validity: Five years

Section order selection

In this exam, you have the flexibility to select the section that you wish to do first. There are  three options for your exam's section order:

Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal

Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment

Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment

Good Score

720+ [Important score out of 800 is made up of the verbal and quantitative scores only.

You will be given a breakdown of your scores (from 0 to 60) for the verbal and the quantitative sections, and these are converted to your score out of 800. Verbal is weighted slightly higher in this total score.

Steps For Preparation

Whether you are preparing yourself, or you intend to join any institute, you must have some idea about the types of questions and their difficulty level. We recommend that you take a mock test to be familiar with the examination pattern, and to understand your strengths and weaknesses.

What is GMAT Exam fee?

The registration fee for GMAT Exam is $275 in India. GMAT Fees will vary depending on your location.

Can I cancel/ reschedule my exam?

Yes. you can cancel and reschedule your exam. But you can not do it 24 hours prior to your test.

How many times can I take this GMAT exam in a year?

You can take this exam five times in 12 months. The minimum gap between two attempts is 16 days.

Is there any break during the exam?

Yes, but this is optional. You can take two 8-minute breaks during the exam.

In how many days, do I get my GMAT score?

You get unofficial score immediately after you finish your test. You get your official score within 20 days of your exam.

Can I cancel my GMAT Score, if I am not happy with my score?

If you are not happy with your performance, you can cancel your score after the test at the examination centre without paying any fee. You can also cancel it within 72 hours of taking exam paying fees.
