About Bank PO Exams  

    Bank Probationary Officer. or Bank PO is a managerial level post which is offered in different Public Sector Banks as well as in Private Sector Banks across India. The list of common Bank PO Exam is: 
    • SBI PO
    • IBPS PO
    • IBPS RRB PO

    SBI POThe State Bank of India (SBI) conducts PO exam to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in different branches of the State Bank of India.

    IBPS POThe Institute of Banking Personnel Section (IBPS) conducts PO exam every year in order to recruit candidates. The candidates are placed in different banks which participate in the recruitment process depending on the marks secured in the exam.The banks which participate in the recruitment drive conducted by IBPS are: Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, IDBI BankIndian Overseas BankUCO BankBank of Maharashtra , Punjab & Sind Bank.

    IBPS RRB POIBPS also conducts RRB PO exam to appoint candidates at officer posts in the various Regional Rural Banks of the country. 

    Private Banks have their own recruitment process and they conduct their exams individually.


    Eligibility Criterion 

    Nationality: All Indian Citizens are eligible to apply. 

    Educational Qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. 
    (Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before eligibility date as given in related advertisement.)

    Age Limit: Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on eligibility date as given in related advertisement.The Relaxation of Upper age allowed for various categories (Check notifications for more details).

    Structure of Test 

    The structure of SBI P0 & IBPS PO exams:

    Prelims: 
    • 3 sections: English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
    • 100 Objective type questions in 60 minutes (20 minutes for each section).
    • Total marks for Prelims is 100 (Each question carries 1 mark)
    • The penalty for wrong answer is 0.25.
    • Prelims is of qualifying nature, and marks will not be counted while preparing the merit list.
    Mains Exam: 
    • There are two sections: Objective & Descriptive Section,
    • Objective paper to be completed in 3 hours and descriptive paper in 30 minutes.
    • In the objective part, there are 4 sections : Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language.
    • A descriptive paper will be conducted along with the above mentioned online test and there will be 2 questions in this paper.
    • The penalty for wrong answer in objective questions is 0.25.
    The structure of IBPS RRB PO Exam:
     
    Prelims: 
    • 2 sections: Reasoning and Numerical Ability
    • 80 Objective type questions in 45 minutes
    • Total marks for Prelims is 80
    • The penalty for wrong answer is 0.25.
    Mains Exam: 
    • 5 sections: Reasoning, General Awareness, Numerical Ability, English Language / Hindi Language & Computer Knowledge
    • 200 Objective types (Each section has 40 questions)
    • Total marks for Prelims is 200
    • The penalty for wrong answer is 0.25.

    Good Score 

    A candidate has to clear sectional cut off as well as overall cut off marks. Cut off varies for different categories of candidates.
