About IELTS 


The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as a language of communication. IELTS can be taken on a computer or paper.

IELTS tests candidates' listening, speaking, reading & writing skills.

There are two types of tests: IELTS Academic & IELTS General Training.
IELTS Academic Test is taken by those who apply for higher education or professional registration abroad. IELTS General Test is taken by those who wish to migrate to major English speaking countries. 


Eligibility Criterion 


IELTS can be taken by anyone. However, it is not recommended for those under 16 years of age.


Structure of Test 

 
There are two types of tests: IELTS Academic & IELTS General Training.
Listening: 30 minutes        40 Questions
Reading: 60 minutes         40 Questions
Writing: 60 minutes            2 Questions
Reading: 11-14 minutes     3 Parts

Listening, reading & writing sections are completed on the same day, whereas, a speaking section can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests.

Good Score 


Most leading institutions require at least 7.0 as the total score. They also require a section or band score of at least 6.5 in all the four sections.

What is IELTS Exam fee?

The registration fee for IELTS is Rs. 14700.

How is IELTS scored?

The total IELTS score will be a combination of the band scores from four sections. You receive IELTS scores based on each of four skills on a band of 1-9, and you are also awarded an overall band score.

How to get IELTS results?

On the date of your result, you will receive an intimation from your test centre about the results. You can simply login with your ID password, passport number and test date information to view your results. For offline/ paper based tests, you will receive your results within 13 calendar days from the day of your exam. For online tests, you will receive the results in 3-5 days

What is the validity period of IELTS score?

From the time you obtain your IELTS score, your score is valid for two years
